Wetlands in California support a wide variety of species. Here, Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) hunt among the cattails (Typha latifolia) for Harvest Mice (Reithrodontomys megalotis), bullfrogs (Lithobates catesbeianus), and three spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus). Herons help natvie species like the stickleback survive by eating invasive bullfrogs.
